CATALYTIC ACTIVATOR FOR CAUSTIC MEROX™ FIXED BED REACTOR SWEETENING
Merox Plus™ is a commercially proven high activity catalyst promoter for use in caustic Merox fixed-bed sweetening units.
Merox Plus activator enables fixed-bed Merox sweetening catalyst to sustain high initial activity throughout its life. Merox Plus increases catalyst activity, allowing for treatment of higher mercaptan content feeds and more difficult to sweeten feedstocks, while maintaining ease of operation. Merox Plus activator improves product quality, insures longer catalyst cycles, allows for operation at lower temperature and reduces caustic and air consumption. Its performance has been demonstrated in both UOP Minalk™ Merox and conventional fixed-bed Merox sweetening units.
For Merox FB™ and Merox No. 8™ catalyst applications, the use of Merox Plus activator is optional, and Merox Plus can be used at the end of a normal catalyst cycle, to extend run length., if and when required. For the special Merox No. 10 ™ catalyst application, Merox Plus is used on a continuous basis.
Merox Plus activator is injected in small (ppm) quantities upstream of the Merox fixed-bed reactor. Merox Plus activator is supplied as a ready to use liquid for ease of injection and safe handling.
Merox Plus activator is widely used in caustic Merox fixed -bed sweetening applications.

Merox Plus activator is supplied in 55 gallon (0.20 m3) plastic drums, or 330 gallon (1.25 m3) cycle drums.
